We all stand together to remember those who have volunteered, served, fought, and who have paid that ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
We will remember them.

The Cenotaph

 The Centotaph is a war memorial to serve as a gathering place for ceremonies on Remembrance Day. It as the names of the people in our town that volunteered , served, fought in or died at war.  Every year a reef is placed next to the cenotaph in memory of each person.

The Midwives Memorial and Storyboard, erected September, 2024, recognizes the late, Lucy Feltham, Mariah Hunt, Eunice (Nicey Collins) Hounsell, and Eliza Noble who were all from our community and who made such contribution to the delivery of so many babies, their mothers and the families.

B & B Run and Retrieve Dog Park

B & B Run and Retrieve Dog Park

Unveiled in August 2024 by the Town of Dover and the Oram Family, this park is dedicated to the loving memory of Bradley Oram. It was Bradley’s wish to create a dog park, and through the efforts of his family and the Town of Dover, his vision was realized posthumously.

In January, 2023, we announced the Recreation Centre would be named in honor and memory of Lloyd Parsons. Lloyd served on the Dover Recreation Commission for many years. His good friend and fellow longtime Recreation member Carl Parsons accepted the sign for the centre and spoke on the memory of Lloyd.

Resettlement Park

Resettlement Park

Resettlement Park was established as a memorial to the families that resettled to Dover during the 1960’s resettlement program. Located on the land that the famous Resettlement Photos were taken that then became Malcolm Rogers’ Mill. Some remnants of the machinery is still there today.

The Memory Garden is the area leading up to the Dover Fault Lookout that local families can dedicate trees to loved ones who have passed away.

The Dover Fault Lookout is shaped like the bow of a ship, accompanied by a plaque nearby, both serving as a memorial to the sailors of Newfoundland that served their community and their country during the World Wars.
